Headshots don’t have to be complicated to be powerful. In many of my student sessions, we deliberately keep things simple: neutral backgrounds, clean light and carefully chosen outfits that don’t distract.
This allows the focus to land where it should always be, your face and expression. Casting professionals want to know what you really look like when you walk into the room. A calm, uncluttered setup supports that, and it gives you images that stay fresh and usable for longer.
We’ll often create a mix of indoor and outdoor looks, or subtle changes in background tone, to give a bit of variety without losing that simplicity. The result is a set of images you can use across Spotlight, agents’ files, drama school applications and social media, all consistent, all professional, and all clearly you.
