Headshot Photography FAQ – Glasgow
-
Where is your studio and how do I get there?
My home studio is at 1 Arnold Avenue, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, G64 1PE – directly across the road from Bishopbriggs train station, with easy links from Glasgow Queen Street and the city centre.
There’s on-street parking nearby, and I’ll include detailed directions and arrival info in your booking email.
-
What types of headshot sessions do you offer?
I specialise in three main types of headshot work:
Actor headshots – for Spotlight, agents, drama school applications and productions, especially for RCS students and Glasgow-based performers.
Business & LinkedIn headshots – clean, modern portraits for LinkedIn, CVs, personal branding and company websites.
Corporate teams & events – consistent team headshots at your office and coverage of conferences, awards nights and corporate events across Glasgow.
If you’re not sure which option fits you best, send a quick email with what you need your images for, and I’ll point you in the right direction.
-
How long does a headshot session take?
It depends on the type of session:
Actor headshots – usually 45–60 minutes, with time to warm up, try different outfits and explore your casting range.
Business / LinkedIn sessions – typically 30–60 minutes, depending on whether you choose the 2-image or 4-image package.
Corporate teams – I normally allow 10 minutes per person. Within this time, the individual will get plenty of options and can select there and then which they would like to be edited.
We move at a relaxed pace – enough time to get what you need without dragging the process out.
-
What’s included in the price?
Every session includes:
A guided home studio session with coaching on posture, expression and micro-adjustments.
An online gallery of your images so you can choose your favourites.
A set number of retouched digital files, supplied ready for web and print.
The option to buy additional retouched images afterwards.
Current packages include:
Actor headshots – £135
45–60 minutes, 4 retouched images and a full contact sheet for selection. Extra images are £25 each.Business & LinkedIn headshots – from £99
Individual sessions start at £99 for 2 images, with a larger profile package at £135 for 4 images. Extra images are £25 each. For corporate team days and events, I offer half-day and full-day rates starting from £400, tailored to what you need.
-
How many outfits or “looks” can I bring?
For actor headshots, plan on 3–4 outfit changes – for example, a clean neutral look, something more commercial, and a more dramatic or character-driven option.
For business / LinkedIn headshots, bringing 1-2 options is ideal – perhaps a more formal blazer look and a slightly more relaxed option.
Bring anything you’re not sure about – we can decide together on the day.
-
What should I wear for actor headshots?
Casting directors and Spotlight tend to prefer simple, distraction-free clothing that supports your casting rather than shouting louder than your face.
Think plain, layered pieces in colours that suit your skin tone and eyes.
Choose tops that feel like your everyday casting “type” – e.g. teacher, young professional, period drama, contemporary gritty, etc.
Avoid strong patterns, logos and anything very on-trend that might date the images too quickly.
Keep your hair natural and consistent with how you’d arrive at an audition.
If you have an agent, it’s worth having a quick chat with them before the session so we can align your looks with how they see your casting.
-
What should I wear for my business & LinkedIn headshot?
For business headshots and LinkedIn portraits, simple and professional always works best:
Good options
Solid colours – navy, grey, black, cream and earth tones.
Simple, well-fitting clothing with clean necklines.
Minimal jewellery and subtle makeup.
1–2 variations in jacket/top to give us choice.
Things to avoid
Distracting patterns, checks, stripes or large logos.
Very shiny or reflective fabrics.
Anything you feel uncomfortable or “not yourself” in.
If your company has brand colours or a specific dress code, we can plan around that too.ption goes here

I hate having my photo taken. Can you help with that?
Absolutely – the majority of people who come to the studio tell me this.
Sessions are relaxed and collaborative. I’ll coach you through small adjustments in posture and expression, show you images on the back of the camera as we go, and we’ll work together until you see versions of yourself you actually like.
You don’t need to know how to “pose” – that’s my job.
-
Do you travel to offices, rehearsal spaces or events?tem
Yes. As well as home studio sessions in Bishopbriggs, I can:
Bring a mobile headshot setup to your office for team headshots.
Photograph conferences, away days and awards nights across Glasgow and beyond.
Visit rehearsal spaces or theatres for performer and production imagery.
Travel within Glasgow is usually included for corporate half-day and full-day bookings; for locations further afield, I’ll provide a quote that covers travel.
-
How do I book a session?
You can book directly through Book Here or in the menu, or via the booking links on the Actor Headshots and Business Headshots pages.
For team or event photography, it’s best to email pete@petecopeland.co.uk with a rough idea of dates, location and how many people you need photographed, and I’ll come back with a tailored quote.
-
When will I receive my images?
Actor headshots – retouched finals are typically delivered within 5 days of you choosing your favourites.
Business / LinkedIn headshots – turnaround is usually similar; we can adjust timescales if required, especially if you have a specific deadline (new job, press release, launch date).
Corporate & events – delivery times depend on the size of the job, but I always aim to get a useful selection to you quickly for press and internal comms.
You’ll receive your images as a downloadable online gallery.
-
How are the images edited? Do you retouch?
Yes – every selected image is professionally retouched.
My retouching style is clean and natural: removing temporary blemishes, softening under-eye shadows, tidying stray hairs and balancing colour and contrast so the image looks polished but still like you.
I don’t dramatically reshape faces or over-smooth skin – that tends to work against you with casting directors and on professional platforms like LinkedIn.
-
Can I choose extra images and how much do they cost?
Yes. Every headshot session comes with a set number of retouched images included:
Actor headshots – 4 images included.
Business / LinkedIn headshots – 2 or 4 images included, depending on the package.
If you fall in love with more, you can buy extra retouched images for £25 per image across all session types.
-
Can I use my headshots for Spotlight, LinkedIn, my website and press?
Yes – your headshot licence covers personal and professional promotion, including:
Spotlight and other casting platforms
Agents’ websites and submissions
LinkedIn and other social platforms
Personal websites and portfolios
Company “About” / “Team” pages
Press features and speaking events
If you need to use images for large-scale advertising campaigns or billboards, just let me know and we can agree on the right usage.
-
Do you provide RAW or unedited files?
No – I don’t supply RAW or unedited files.
Part of what you’re hiring me for is the complete look of the images: lighting, expression and post-production working together. You’ll see a wide selection in your online gallery/contact sheet, and then I’ll polish the final chosen images so they’re ready to use straight away.
-
Do you offer hair and make-up?
Hair and make-up isn’t built into the session price.
Most clients arrive camera-ready with their usual everyday make-up and hair styling (or clean, simple grooming for men), which keeps things authentic for both casting directors and professional platforms.
If you’d like recommendations for local hair and make-up artists in Glasgow, I can point you towards people my clients have used successfully.
-
What’s your cancellation / rescheduling policy?
Life happens – auditions, illness and last-minute meetings are part of the job.
If you need to move your session, please give as much notice as you can so I can offer the slot to someone else. Full booking and rescheduling details are included in your confirmation email, and if anything unexpected crops up, just get in touch and we’ll figure it out.
